ORH
I'm originally from Paris. In 1991, an Aboriginal art exhibition marked a turning point in my life. This encounter with a different way of seeing the world became the starting point for my artistic approach. I then studied history, geography, and cartography. It was during this period that I began creating my first works.
Why ORH? This name evokes the transformation of the ordinary into the extraordinary. How? By revealing the hidden beauty of the world around us to create suspended moments.
The relationship with time is the question that drives me through each of my works. I explore the way in which time is imprinted, suspended, or transformed.
My inspiration comes from observing the living and human, from their interactions in a given space-time, between past, heritage and projection towards the future. It is these traces, these moving presences, that nourish my work.
Painting, drawing, and film photography allow me to capture a state, an idea, or a form at a specific moment. These are gestures of preservation, almost of resistance to oblivion. And it is in installation that my practice takes on its full dimension: by working with materials, pigments, light, and space, I seek to make these fragments of time sensitive, almost palpable.
I invite the viewer to traverse another temporality, to awaken a deep memory, inscribed in the order of life. My installations resonate with something primordial, an awareness of time that transcends the individual, between permanence and transformation.
